Here I am rappelling down the mountain on a favorite vacation!
Hello fellow friends of the interwebs.  I would like to say that I've been on these crazy, exciting and wild adventures.  However, my immune system has decided alternative plans and left me sick in bed.  Good thing this sickness has given me the time to peruse the internet and catch up on some good blogs.

While lost in my sea of sick, I stumbled upon a post on Expand Outdoors that kind of blew my mind.  Recently, I've been lost in a sea of complacency in a lot of areas in my life.  Comfort took its hold and I forgot the things that mattered, goals, what fueled my days and what made me happy.  I became in lazy in life and I am NOT one to settle. And then, I read the gem below. BAM!  Instant reminder!  Take a peak below at the excerpt and my responses!

If you’re finding it difficult to get things done (not for lack of trying, mind you!), here is one exercise that might help you gain some clarity and perspective on what to start with.

Here I am AFTER swimming in the Boston Harbor...in December.
1. Make a list of all the things in your life that you are trying to do or accomplish.
Travel for an extended period of time
Learn Spanish
Work at a not for profit
Teach in the Mountains
Get back in tune with my artistic side
Go back to school
2. Take a look at your list. Really look at it objectively. How much energy are you expending on each one? Which feel exciting? Which are you dreading.
Exciting: travel for an extended period of time, get back in tune with my artistic side
Dreading: Learning Spanish and going back to school
3. Prioritize your list and choose between one to three items that really resonate with you and you feel excited anticipation to get started.
Travel for an extended period of time, get back in tune with my artistic side, learn Spanish

Here I am after climbing that pesky boulder at HP40!
4. Give yourself permission to let go of the others (for now — you can reassess later if it makes sense) and make the decision to DO those top three. What’s the first step?
The first step is deciding to start..TODAY!
5. Write down the first action you need to take toward each of those goals that you chose. (Remember—you should have no more than three!) Make a plan and commit to doing that one step today.
Travel for an extended period of time: Make a travel fund, research spots and economical ways to travel
Artistic side: Devote 30 minutes daily to dabble in my long lost love.
Learn Spanish: Buckle down and START using Rosetta Stone

This post was a swift reminder to myself NOT become lazy in life and to seek happiness and set goals.  No one is going to do it for me so it's best I get to work!

This week I urge you to answer the same questions.  Hey, you might find your motivations too!

What are some things in your life you've wanted to accomplish?
